*Change Your Thinking.....Change Your Life*
A person says I got off the plane and went through customs to the taxi stand. When a taxi stopped near me, what struck me was the shine of the car. Its polish was shining in the distance. A smart driver quickly got out of the taxi. He was wearing a white shirt and black trousers which looked freshly ironed. He also had a neatly tied black tie. He came to the other side of the cab and opened the back door of the car for me. He put a beautiful card in my hand and said. *'Sir, while I put your stuff in the trunk, you read my mission statement.*
I matched my eyes.
*what's this?*
* My name is Sain, your driver. My mission is to transport passengers to their destinations in the shortest, safest and cheapest way and provide them with a suitable environment*
My mind was blown with hunger. I looked around and the interior of the cab was as clean as it was sparkling from the outside. Meanwhile, he had taken over the steering wheel.
*'Sir would you like to have coffee or tea. There are two thermoses with tea and coffee lying next to you.* I jokingly said, *No, I will have a cold drink.*
He said, "Sir, there is no problem." I have a cooler lying ahead. It has coke, lassi, water and orange juice. What would you like to have?'*
I called for Lucy and she grabbed the box from the front. I hadn't even kissed him yet, he said
*'Sir, if you want to read something, I have Urdu and English newspapers'.*
When the car stopped at the next signal, Sain handed me another card that contained all the FM stations that could be played on my car radio. Also they have all the albums I have on CD. If you like music, I can. And as if all this was not enough, he said that
Sir, I have installed the air conditioner. I will tell you that if the temperature is high or low, I will do it according to your wish.' . Then asked about the big leaf
*Sir if you want I can tell you about this area in passing *and if you want you can get lost in your thoughts*
He looked into the glass and smiled.
I asked
*Sain, have you always been driving a cab like this?* A smile came to his face again.
* No sir, I have started doing this for about two years, five years before that I used to work like other taxi drivers. I also used to spend all my time complaining.* *Then one day I heard from someone what is the power of thought.*
It is the power of thought that you would rather be a duck or an eagle. If you leave home expecting problems, you will have a bad day. Like a duck, there's no use in ducking all the time, fly high like an eagle and everything will look different from where you are. This hit my brain like an arrow and it changed my life.
I thought this is my life. I was always complaining and quacking like a duck. I just decided to become an eagle. I looked around and saw all the taxis dirty. Their drivers were dressed in dirty clothes. He used to complain all the time and quarrel with the passengers. His passengers were also tired of him. No one was happy. I just decided to change myself. First I made a few changes. Started keeping the car clean and paid attention to his clothes. When encouraged by customers, I made further improvements. And still looking for improvement.
I asked out of interest if it made any difference to your income.
It made a big difference. In the first year my income doubled and this year it seems to increase four times. Now my clients book me over the phone or schedule an appointment via SMS. I think now I will have to buy another cab and put someone like me in it. It was Sain. He decided not to be a duck but an eagle.
What do you think, the journey of the eagle should not be started from this week? Sain gave me a new philosophy.
